And the endings can reflect on both choices that affect the romantic aspect, but as well as the general plot one. Typically, in order to get the true ending, you would have to get through every route while making the correct plot choices, but I am not sure how long we will be here for...

Usually you can tell by the amount of information you're receiving. If you're actively learning more about what's going on, it usually means you're doing well.
From the ones I've played, you usually will be able to tell the further you get. Since we're still early on, it won't be as obvious.
