[ well giyuu would definitely be up to going back to jungle camp after all of this madness. somehow his camp was spared? spared. kind of. the whole thing was a lot but it's fine.
what he doesn't expect to see on his way back to camp is someone who tends to end up getting themselves in danger around him. maybe this time he'll notice him and not freak out? ]
Looking for something here?
[ not that he isn't allowed to wander this way but— ]
it took me a good five minutes to notice the picture im crying
[ he's less jumpy, probably because he's looking out for a fucking bear, so there's that. yin yu hears the rustling and sees the the familiar face from where, again, he's up in the tree, then drops out of it, landing with a polite bow of his head, before out to the treeline. ]
I had to leave the place where we found Ogata's body so quickly... there was something about it that was bothering me. I don't think we had anywhere near the whole story.
[ a pause, and then. ] ...you must think I'm terribly suspicious.
[ yeah. why is it that yin yu does things that are just. so much for giyuu to take. it's great for after trial because his threshold for bullshit is absolutely gone so he doesn't care. ]
I think a number of us are suspicious, and I'm not sure how much longer we'll have the ability to worry about that.
[ but hm. there is definitely so much about the ones they didn't solve and still haven't solved that constantly is nagging on him. ]
[ it really is just a coincidence.... every time.....
but, he nods, making a soft noise in agreement, a humorless huff of a laugh. there’s no point in dwelling on the point, though. ]
The tracks. I wanted to stay longer, but we had to get Ogata back. I don’t think that Lady Tanzawa has much experience tracking....so I wanted to look for myself. I don’t think his death was even remotely an accident.
You must have seen when you came in -- there was a trap that had been set off at the entrance to this place. The traps were there when I went to fetch medicinal plants with Lady Flayn and a few others, and we had reason to believe they were set by Ogata himself, although I don't know what entirely he was trying to catch.
[ food? maybe. whoever was behind that weird voice? also probable. the jungle had been utterly devoid of strange monsters, though, unlike apparently most every other part of this place. he brings a hand to his chin. ] And then, between the rock that I found and the wound on Ogata's forehead, and the second set of footsteps... I'm sure he wasn't alone. I do think the bear was what killed him, but someone must have antagonized it.
It would make sense for Ogata to have been the one to do so, if there had been no one else there. [ he was... an antagonizing guy... to say the least... but yin yu's too polite to say something like that. ] But he couldn't have been alone. There are pieces of this missing, and I can't in good conscious leave it incomplete, no matter what 'results' came about.
[ this is like the most word's he's spoken in a conversation in like a hundred years ]

[ how bold of you to expect that i can follow everything at trial and remember it for the following day but—giyuu will listen silently and (un)fortunately offer a few words on the matter. ]
If we catch that person, what would you plan to do? We have already cast a name for sacrifice. [ but they would be a person short. ] Would you also sacrifice them for their actions?
[ look, giyuu holds no real positive feeling towards ogata, so he can't feel the same drive but he does understand wanting to not leave things as they are. ]
[ that's why i tagged it first thing today while my brain was not swiss cheese
yin yu doesn't quite sigh, but he shakes his head immediately. he's not the type to get swept up in fervor, and the idea of there being more bloodshed feels like the number one thing to avoid. ] ...No. Of course not.
[ frustrating. yin yu doesn't like to sit idle--it lets his thoughts gather way too much. ] Even an explanation would be something. I don't know what else I can do.
but giyuu can understand yin yu's frustration—it's been what has been eating at him the entire time. so many people are dying and yet there are seemingly no closer to understanding what is going on. surely, there is something within all of that information, right? ]
To figure out what is going on here is the only real choice that we have in this matter.

Most people here don't have a lot of experience with things like this.
[ he says with a slight nod. ]
What do you think might have happened with him? The bear seemed to have settled down after Kanroji dealt with it, right?

If we talk enough, something might become clear.
