[ meanwhile, kara is doing the same around the courts! he's taking his time to check every inch of his sword, both sides, for anything off. he seems to be satisfied, though, because once he's done he'll start in on practice maneuvers. but when he hears giyuu, kara turns suddenly, blade pointed in his direction.

[ being jumpy is one thing and then blindly attacking willy nilly due to a noise are two different things but given what has been going on, giyuu isn't about to judge anyone for striking out. especially since he counters the action with his own—drawing his blade and holding it across his body protectively.

there's no tension in his body language but he's watching to see what the next move. giyuu hasn't formally met everyone so he doesn't know what to expect from them all. supposedly no one wants to kill one another...

[ kara doesn't know this guy, and doesn't particularly care to. he is, however, immediately distracted by the sword, blinking down at it with a slight frown. ]

Blue...?

[ giyuu's not going lower his blade until kara does, but he does explain his blade easy enough. it doesn't mean anything to not. ]

It's a nichirin blade.

[ he does pull back, after a moment, but he's still squinting dubiously. ]

[ and giyuu will lower his blade in kind but leaves it out in view as he explains it. ]

It's a blade that's specifically forged to slay demons. It constantly absorbs sunlight within itself.

I know demon slaying swords, but none of them absorb sunlight.

[ see, that phrasing just makes it sound like he's familiar with swords in general which is fine with him. ]

It's an unique sword even from where I'm from made with this particular ore.

[ interesting. kara's curious about this weird ore, but it's not like he knows much about smithing swords. he doesn't even know what his own sword's ore isi? ]

What's its name?

[ he just assumes it has a name ]

[ he's going to think he means the sword, of course, and he'll look down at it allowing the blue blade to reflect the sunlight. kara, however, can see that there's something inscribed at the base of the blade near its handle. ]

I haven't given it one.

[ he wants to ask why, but you know? that might welcome the same in turn, and kara isn't planning to tell the world he's a sword. so. he'll drop it, then.

the inscription does catch his eye, but kara dismisses it. probably just the smith's signature, or a carving similar to the dragon on his own blade. so instead of asking, he simply sheaths his sword. ]

I don't trust them when they say there won't be any killing here.

[ by way of explanation for the uh. accidental attack. ]

[ the sword's inscription detailed something about slaying all demons as well as included the mark of the blacksmith that forged it. not that kara saw and now that they're done with it, giyuu will put his sword away back into the scabbard. ]

[ he pauses for a moment, considering something, and then - ]

Did they give you a new ability, too?

[ oh. that was surprising but— ]

giyuu wants to see where things are gonna go from this. he won't ask about the powers but he's curious. ]

Your power - is it made for battle?

It certainly seems that way but no, it isn't.

[ hmm. this is a safe way to getting things across. ]

Is your's?

Sort of. It isn't fire or meteors, though.

[ wow suddenly i hate how the sword styles in demon slayer are based on elements... because clearly the idea of fire doesn't bother him. ]

but thinking about murder island with magic seems infinitely worse. ]

No. Some of them were, but mine was probably the most dangerous. The others... it depended on how they were used.

[ because, you know, that's what is important here even though everyone seem to be on the same page about not killing anyone. say no to murder. ]
