[ honestly the best thing to happen to him so far in all of this horrible and hideous mess is that he was able to get his clothes back, but he's still going to be worried about things being tampered with.
which is to say that he'll have his sword drawn briefly before him examining the blade for any flaws or cracks somewhere in the middle of the camp grounds near the bonfire. no reason to do it too close to anyone who he might hurt. he isn't equipped with properly caring for it so he really hopes that there's nothing wrong.
though once he deemed everything to be in order, he'll put it back into the its sheath and start to head off to explore the area. he has a lot of ground to cover. ]
[ meanwhile, kara is doing the same around the courts! he's taking his time to check every inch of his sword, both sides, for anything off. he seems to be satisfied, though, because once he's done he'll start in on practice maneuvers. but when he hears giyuu, kara turns suddenly, blade pointed in his direction.
[ being jumpy is one thing and then blindly attacking willy nilly due to a noise are two different things but given what has been going on, giyuu isn't about to judge anyone for striking out. especially since he counters the action with his own—drawing his blade and holding it across his body protectively.
there's no tension in his body language but he's watching to see what the next move. giyuu hasn't formally met everyone so he doesn't know what to expect from them all. supposedly no one wants to kill one another...
[ kara doesn't know this guy, and doesn't particularly care to. he is, however, immediately distracted by the sword, blinking down at it with a slight frown. ]
[ well. death aside, they still have to eat sometime. kara is in the middle of making the simplest dish he could think of - just a simple fried rice. he glances up when giyuu arrives, but offers no greeting, simply turning back to the pot. ]
[ the lack of hustle and bustle that he finds when he enters the mess hall is, quite frankly, nice given how he would have been running around forcing himself to interact with as many people as possible. it's tiring work for someone who hates to socialize but if it's for the benefit of everyone then...it needs to be done.
he'll shuffle around to look at what kara is making but also not want to get into his way. he might wander over to try to set a kettle up to make some tea though. tea for his soul. their souls? ]
[ bless these quiet idiots. kara, at least, isn't trying to hide the fried rice, all he really cares to bother with at the moment. it's just about done, thankfully, so he'll set it aside to grab a couple of bowls while giyuu starts his tea. ]
[ sometimes...you just need a quiet moment admist all of this madness and people having serious emotions. ]
Are you making that for anyone?
[ anyone in particular, of course. though, even though he's saying this, giyuu will be looking to bring out two mugs for the tea. it's just common manners that even someone like him has. ]
[ well, who is giyuu to turn down free food? not to mention, he brings up a good point. if things go the way they all expect things to go, then he shouldn't be avoiding taking care of himself. ]
[ done exploring and done with the massive drinking mess that was "never have i ever"&mdasdh;it's a good thing that giyuu brought tea to the party and not actual drinks. no drunk giyuu, thanks. ]
Something similar.
[ kind of? the idea of it seems....similar? he'd be aware of old-school movie projectors but this...modern? and just for the sake of this thread, i'm going to say that he saw it in his otome.
[ giyuu learning technology from otomes is so good. ]
Me, either.
[ mutsunokami would probably figure it out, but that chatterbox isn't here. so kara looks for a button, and presses. that's usually what does it, right? ]
but with the push of the button the projector kicks to life and ta-da! (have mercy on both of their souls, honestly.) they have movie... kind of. they have the a bright light showing on a giant screen showing something counting down. ]
[ well, that sure was a weekend! kara is almost certain that people have been swarming giyuu since the execution ended, and he has no desire to add to the noise, so... he leaves giyuu alone, for now. it isn't until they come across each other that he'll address it. ]
How is the... [ arm? is that distasteful to ask? lack of arm, maybe? no, that seems worse. how does one address a missing limb. ] ...injury?
[ giyuu is hardly popular but there are certain people who had some choice words to tell him. ...which they did. their words resonating within his entire person but it's fine. by the time kara and giyuu meet up, giyuu will have already pushed it from his front of his mind. ]
Oh, it's fin—
[ which is about all giyuu gets to say first before a particular fight fills in space where the rest of his answers would have been. ( 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 ) give giyuu a moment to consider what, if anything, he should say after it. it...wasn't bad. just a fight? sparring really. to say that he enjoyed reliving it out of the blue, though? maybe not so much. ]
[ the memory ends just as quickly as it began, but horror has frozen kara where he stands. his eyes are wide as he stares at giyuu in mute shock - eyes flicking down to the blue sword he'd seen before, just for a moment, before glancing back up at giyuu's face.
perhaps it seems an extreme reaction, to someone who spars so often.
words have failed kara, though, so he all he can do is take a step back, shaking his head as if to rid himself of the memory. ]
[ kara's silence leaves giyuu unsure what he can say. to him, there was nothing that stands out in particular—it was just two pillars who were testing each other's merit. admittedly the fact that giyuu cannot do what he could in the memory here, is likely what might be surprising. here, he is no different than an ordinary swordsman.
however—back home... well, he has dedicated his life to refining his skills so that he can be a pillar. so, he waits to see what kara will ends up saying. ...for the moment. ]

It's a nichirin blade.

Nichirin?

It's a blade that's specifically forged to slay demons. It constantly absorbs sunlight within itself.
